What’s the integration?

  • Automatic API ingestion: Snyk now pulls API inventories and schemas directly from Akamai using traffic analysis, code inspection, and schema inference. No more hunting for OpenAPI files.
  • One-click testing: Once imported, APIs show up in your Snyk API & Web inventory—with schemas attached and ready to scan. Just click to start testing.

Why it matters

  • Boost scan coverage: Automatically brings previously hard-to-reach APIs into scope for DAST security testing.
  • Streamline workflows: No more manual schema management—Snyk + Akamai handles discovery and setup so you can focus on testing.
  • Better collaboration: Developers benefit from Akamai’s API visibility, while security teams can leverage Snyk’s user-friendly scanning.

Ready to get started?

  1. Generate an Akamai service account with Client ID and Client Secret in the Akamai Control Center.
  2. In Snyk API & Web, go to Settings → Integrations or the Discovery tab. Select “Akamai” and enter your credentials.
  3. Snyk will import your domains, scan for APIs, and flag schemas. From the Discovery view, you can filter by source and type, then click “Add Target” to start scanning.

Key benefits at a glance

  • Less manual effort—no more chasing down API specs.
  • Faster insights—immediate visibility and test readiness.
  • Comprehensive coverage—scan internal and external APIs sooner.
  • Stronger security posture—identify vulnerabilities across your full API surface.

Final thoughts

This integration is a game-changer for organizations managing distributed or cloud-native APIs. It removes friction from API security workflows and ensures more of your attack surface is tested. If you’re a Snyk Enterprise and Akamai API Security customer, it’s ready now.
