Where They Were: iA Financial Group's digital platform had grown into a complex ecosystem spanning Sitecore, Coveo, and Azure. The existing MVC architecture was reaching its limits, and the team needed a path toward composable, headless delivery without disrupting the services millions of Canadians depend on.

The challenge went beyond a simple upgrade. They needed someone who could design NGINX reverse proxy configurations for hybrid MVC and headless delivery in AKS, implement Azure Monitoring across the stack, manage dynamic token replacement pipelines, and coordinate Kong, Sitecore, and Coveo upgrades — all while keeping production stable and planning the next-generation composable architecture.

What we did together

Infrastructure & Reverse Proxy Architecture

We designed and implemented NGINX reverse proxy configurations enabling hybrid MVC and headless content delivery within Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). This included setting up Azure Monitoring dashboards, dynamic token replacement for environment-specific configurations, and ensuring the infrastructure could support both legacy and modern delivery patterns simultaneously.

Platform Upgrades & Composable Planning

We led coordinated upgrades across Kong API Gateway, Sitecore, and Coveo — managing the complex interdependencies between each platform. Beyond the immediate upgrades, we play a key role in planning iA's transition to a composable architecture, helping the team evaluate and adopt patterns that will scale with their long-term digital strategy.
