Drupal 10 reaches end of life on December 9, 2026
No Drupal 10 releases after that date, security fixes included. No Drupal 10 extended support program has been announced.
Why this assessment matters now
After December 9, 2026, no new Drupal 10 releases are made, security fixes included. Drupal 10.6 is its last minor release, and the Drupal release schedule places Drupal 12.0 and Drupal 11.5 in the same week.
No Drupal 10 extended support program has been announced, and Acquia's support for Drupal 10 ends on the same date. Starting now gives you time to choose your path before the date, not after it.

Your three options
Upgrade to Drupal 11. Your site must run Drupal 10.3 or later, on PHP 8.3 or later. Core modules removed in Drupal 11 (Actions UI, Activity Tracker, Book, Forum, Statistics and Tour) need their contributed versions or must be retired, and every contributed and custom module must be compatible (drupal.org upgrade guide). Drupal 12.0 requires PHP 8.5, so check your hosting plan early (PHP requirements).
Re-platform. If the upgrade is close to a rebuild, or Drupal no longer fits your team, compare other platforms and plan the move of your content, redirects and integrations.
Stay on Drupal 10 unsupported. The site keeps running, but security issues found after December 9 stay open unless your team patches them, and contributed modules and hosting providers can drop Drupal 10 over time. The assessment shows how exposed your build is.

Frequently asked questions
What happens to Drupal 10 after December 9, 2026?
Your site keeps working, but no new Drupal 10 releases are made, security fixes included. Security issues found after that date stay open unless you upgrade, move or patch them yourself.
Is there extended support for Drupal 10?
As of October 2026, no Drupal 10 extended support program has been announced. The commercial extended support offers from HeroDevs and Tag1 cover Drupal 7. Acquia's support for Drupal 10 also ends on December 9, 2026.
What does the upgrade to Drupal 11 require?
Drupal 10.3 or later, PHP 8.3 or later, Drupal 11 versions of your contributed modules, and updated custom code and themes. Modules removed from core in Drupal 11 must be replaced by their contributed versions or retired before the upgrade.
Do you make changes to our site during the assessment?
No. We review code, modules and configuration with read-only access and change nothing in your environments.
What happens after the report?
We walk you through it on a call. You can do the work in-house, with your current agency or with Sengo. It is your report.
